Why Life Insurance?

EMPLOYER PAID AND VOLUNTARY TERM LIFE INSURANCE

• Your employer provides all eligible employees with a policy in the amount of one times your Basic Annual Salary up to a $100,000 maximum benefit.
• The cost of this policy is paid for 100% by your employer. This is a term life policy that is in effect while you are employed by the City of Watauga.

If you determine you need more than the basic employer paid coverage, you may purchase additional coverage for yourself and your eligible family members.

Employee – $10,000 increments; minimum of $10,000 up to $500,000 or 5 times your salary (whichever is greater)

Spouse – $5,000 increments; minimum of $5,000 up to $150,000 (not to exceed 100% of your additional life coverage)

Child (ren) 14 days to 6 months: $250; 6 months to 25 years: $10,000
