Medical Plans are Offered through TRS-ActiveCare

The district’s medical plans are offered through TRS. There are five TRS-ActiveCare medical plans to choose from (one is closed to new participants). From in- and out-of-network options to comprehensive prescription drug coverage and special health and wellness programs, TRS-ActiveCare has been designed to flexibly meet the needs of nearly half a million public education employees.

Garland ISD Premiums for TRS-ActiveCare

Premiums are lower than TRS ActiveCare rates because Garland ISD contributes to TRS $325 per month per eligible* covered employee.
