Flexible Spending
Maximum contribution for 2026 is $3,400.
A Health Flexible Spending Account (Health FSA) is an IRS-approved program for tax savings and reimbursement of out-of-pocket medical, dental, and vision expenses not covered by your medical plan. Your employer offers a roll-over option, allowing you to carry over up to $680 of unclaimed funds to the next year, with any excess forfeited under the use-it-or-lose-it rule.
Note: The IRS requires proof of eligible expenses for tax claims. Keep receipts that include the purchase date, amount paid after insurance, product/service description, merchant/provider name, and patient name.
Health Savings Accounts
2026 Maximum Contribution Levels, Individual Coverage: $4,400,Family Coverage: $8,750
A Health Savings Account (HSA) helps manage healthcare costs alongside a qualified High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP). It allows tax-free savings for qualified medical expenses, enabling you to allocate savings from lower monthly premiums to cover future costs like co-pays, deductibles, prescriptions, vision, dental care, therapy, and medical supplies. Health savings accounts (HSAs) allow balances to roll over and earn interest. They are portable, providing tax advantages by enabling investment in mutual funds for healthcare costs or retirement. Expenses can be paid with a debit card for immediate access or reimbursed online without needing receipts (though saving them is advised for tax purposes).
